These are some of the self-portraits taken by the Jaguares (oldest group in Guaruma from 14 to 19 years old). They have been starting photojournalism this semester after only shooting nature photography in the past. I started them on self-portraits, then they started to document their families and now are branching out into their community. I had them write about each one of these subjects before and after they took photos to reinforce things. My inspiration for this project was Wendy Ewald's book, "I wanna take me a picture."
