Guaruma Photography

Hello from Guaruma Photography.

Guaruma is located in the Cangrejal River watershed in northern Honduras, Central America. We are a non-profit, non-religious, non-governmental organization with two after school programs in Las Mangas and El Pital. Each school has 30 students from ages 8 to 18 that receive classes in photography, environmental science, computers and English. The Cangrejal River watershed climbs into the Nombre de Dios mountains, on the edge of Pico Bonito National Park, located on the north coast of Honduras near the city of La Ceiba. This watershed is lined with several rural communities that offer white-water rafting, hiking, swimming holes, waterfalls, accomadations, restaurants and local artisans.

I will be posting photos from a variety of our young photographers. All of these images are created with donated point and shoot digital cameras.

For purchase of photos, donations and more information head to www.guaruma.org

The above image is the cover of our upcoming 2009 Calendar which sells for only $10
